Job Summary:
Position Summary
The Certified Public Accountant is responsible for applying general principles of accounting to input and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. This includes developing, implementing and/or maintaining one or a combination of general accounting systems. Prepare journal entries and maintain and reconcile ledger accounts. Provide records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transitions. Process payroll. Principle duties will include auditing, preparing required tax returns, and providing necessary consulting services. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital; prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and documenting financial transactions
  • Occasionally apply foreign exchange rates to international subsidiary financial reports and prepare fully reconciled, consolidated financial reports for the business
  • Install, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures; devise and implement systems for general accounting
  • Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation; advise management regarding effects of business activities on taxes and on strategies for minimizing tax liability
  • Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns
  • Examine accounts/records and compute taxes owed based on prescribed rates, laws, and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with periodic tax payments, information reporting and other taxing authority requirements; organize and maintain tax records and conduct tax studies and special projects
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Two or more years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
  • Ability to work with all personnel within the organization and facilitate communication effectively, and work in fast paced/changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling, theory, and factor analysis
  • Must be able see beyond the day-to-day accounting and keep their eye on “the big picture”
